Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the vulnerability of global supply chains - the failure of one link in the supply chain can lead to numerous supply disruptions. The current study examines the main supply chain problems associated with the spread of the coronavirus and their ranking based on the perceived importance among the Russian shop owners. The study found the key factors of risks and uncertainty that might have disrupted the food supply chains in Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic and are source of food insecurity if not managed properly. These factors were identified through the literature, and later, based on the primary data collected from the grocery and catering shop owners in Russia, they were ranked using the Grey Relational Analysis model. The study found that traceability and logistical issues are perceived to be the most critical factors that have disrupted the food supply chain in the country.
